This Floyer Close project involved the comprehensive transformation of this end-of-terrace family home. The scheme was carefully developed in response to both the existing property and its surrounding context, enhancing the overall quality of the home while remaining sensitive to the character of the wider setting. The proposals focused on improving spatial flow, natural light, and thermal performance, turning a previously constrained layout into a modern, functional family environment.
At ground floor level, the design introduces a single-storey rear extension alongside the removal of an underperforming conservatory and the conversion of the existing garage into internal living space. These interventions combine to create a generous, open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area, forming a cohesive and highly usable central space. To the front, the garage opening was reimagined with new glazing and cladding to improve both performance and appearance, while at first floor level, a discreet dormer extension above the garage provides additional accommodation in the form of a home office, designed to remain subservient to the main house.
We were appointed to deliver both the architectural and full interior design package, ensuring a seamless and coordinated approach throughout. The interior design was developed in parallel with the architectural proposals, allowing for a consistent material palette, bespoke joinery, and refined detailing across all spaces. The result is a cohesive, contemporary home that balances practical family living with a clear and unified design vision.
