Marius: Side Infill, Rear and Loft Extension
Build date: February 2020
Budget: £425,000
The objective was to extend this Victorian property into a high-quality, efficient family home while respecting and improving its original character.
A ground-floor side infill, rear extension, large skylights and a loft conversion added light, living space and an extra bedroom. London stock brick and Crittall doors helped form a coherent contemporary rear elevation.

We Cover All Areas of Wandsworth

The borough’s neighbourhoods differ greatly in character, so each design needs to respond to its property type, street setting, relevant planning guidance and conservation context.

Wandsworth Planning and Building Control
We have delivered many extension and renovation projects in the London Borough of Wandsworth, including homes in Earlsfield and Balham .
Based nearby in Clapham, AURA is well placed to serve the whole borough. We understand Wandsworth Council’s planning policy and use early research to identify conservation-area guidance, property constraints and realistic design opportunities.
Wandsworth contains 46 conservation areas. Where a property is affected, even a modest extension may require a more sensitive response and permitted development rights may be restricted. We assess the relevant position before recommending whether to pursue permitted development, a lawful development certificate or a planning application.
Whether you are considering a large extension, loft or basement conversion, or a complete refurbishment, compliance with building regulations is essential. AURA can coordinate planning, technical design, consultants, tendering and construction-stage support as one joined-up service.
