Our clients came to us in August 2022, with a 4 bedroom detached house in St Albans. Their existing kitchen layout took up a lot of space, with the arrangement not being very user friendly. They also had two existing conservatories, which again didn’t suit their lifestyle.
They wish to construct a rear kitchen extension, which would be a generous open plan space to allow them to host up to 10 people, whilst also with enough space to prep and cook. They liked the idea of having crittall style glazing in a contemporary extension, which would allow lots of daylight into the new space. The arched style design will allow plenty of natural light into the new extension, whilst also providing the space that our clients desired. There will also be large vaulted ceilings inside, with rooflight in each arch.
As well as this, they wanted to convert the garage at the front of the house into a new home office, and extend the rear patio to improve the connection between the garden and the new extension. We gained planning permission for all of these in January 2023.
