The property developer (XP Property) wanted to convert this existing derelict basement in 2 -bedroom apartments.
Description
In this example of a basement conversion Reading, the property was previously a derelict basement undercroft area which has now been converted into two bright 2-bedroom apartments. Working alongside the property developer (www.XPProperty.co.uk), AURA Architecture has added remarkable value to the property by creating residential properties from a previously uninhabitable basement.
To make extra head height, the team had to dig down and add more windows around the property to increase the amount of natural light. But, what was an uninhabitable space, is now two beautiful and carefully designed flats which have:

The basement conversion was fully waterproofed with a tanking membrane system from DELTA Membranes with a 30-year product warranty. As a result, the new owners can ensure that this basement will remain dry and free from dampness and water ingress. This is one of the most important factors when designing a basement conversion.
